WTB: x4 Hull - Race - Carbon Fiber - Stock

I am located in St.louis, Missouri and am looking to find a hull with title to work on in spare time. Prefer its glassed for 787 and am open to a stock hull, modified race hull or carbon fiber hull. Also open to buying and having shipped depending on cost and condition.

Prefer 95-96 style

Thanks!

I know of a brand new ATM hull with a brand new lightweight top deck. They have not been bonded together yet and there are no holes drilled yet for the rideplate, seat vents, etc. It does have UMI and is set up for a 787 (I think). The problem is that the guy wants 3K for it. He is the original owner who probably paid well over twice that for it so he no motivated seller. In fact it's worse then that.... He wants 6K for it with his other ski and parts and he will not separate. I can't even get all the pics I want or a real parts list, it's like the guy wants me to agree to 6K first and then come dig everything out of his attic.

Sounds awesome but yea that's a lot of commitment for not even seeing the parts. Clearly not a motivated seller. I was texting somebody a couple weeks ago who said they had all of that stuff 'cf hull and hood' but he never texted me a price on any of it.

superstock1986 had a race hull last week but I don't think it was carbon fiber.

Yea in hindsight I should have just bought his with a pile of goodies, he was gonna make me a sweet deal a month ago but at the time I thought it was crazy to have a second hull. Now I think it's crazy to not start from the ground up and let my OCD run wild on a full build

I've got a few things in the works. Shipping is a killer for some of these depending on area. I've got a good lead for a nice special setup just waiting to hear back on some $ numbers.

OCD and race hulls could be a tough combo. I've bought a ton of race hulls because I love the history and the possibility that the hull was trued and/or lightened. But in that "history" there are a lot of boo boos. Even a hull that was never crashed has been drug across the sand for miles, loaded in and out of a beach cart a hundred times, etc. I'm not trying to discourage you this is just something I had to accept myself a while back.

I've paid $500 a couple times for shipping but have been able to get it done for $300 the last couple times. I started a U-ship account and I like it. If you have a few days to wait then somebody usually throws out a low bid.

Haha i hear ya man. I will probably end up with a stock hull to work off of but I do plan on doing a gel coat a different color scheme either way right off the bat but yea I don't want a hull that's going to need a ton of repairs or worse. Gel coat will be enough work & sanding as it is LOL. I am waiting on a few replies and shipping quotes on some options I found but haven't pulled the trigger on anything yet. I just figured if i am going to build from scratch it cant hurt to see if any hulls pop up that have had some weight reduction etc.

Keep in mind it depends on where you ride too. If you are typically in rough water the weight of a stock ski is a good thing. In smooth water light weight is better.

how do you identify a light weight race hull???
Carbon fiber is obvious but what makes is a lightened or aftermarket hull?
I have an old race ski that doesnt have any foam in it....

Pics of the inside of the hull would help.

XP800 and 98SPX hulls are about 30 lbs lighter. Racers had a lot of other tricks and some are hard to see like media blasting the top decks from underneath until they were eggshell thin in places.

Thanks fellas, I searched and searched and did find some CF hulls but the 2,000-3,000 price range is a bit too much to justify for my build as a rec ski. I found a 96 xp bare hull that's close enough/cheap enough to ship for me to get started on since I want to do some color changes and such anyways. Ill eventually still need a donor ski unless I want to kill one xp to bring life to another but thats a ways away. Those little parts add up too quick without a decent donor to snag parts from but for now this hull will keep me plenty busy for the new color scheme & misc work!

Could you please text me about any carbon hull deals I don't know about when you get a chance? I like to keep track of these things lol.
