hey guys i had great luck with getting parts off this site so i thought id try again!

just looking for the sprocket thats in the case that runs the rotary valve, i pullled the motor to clkean the carbs and replace the crankseals and it looked like there was some gold dust in the motor so i need a new sprocket..

can anyone tell me if i should be worried about that dust criculating threw the injection system, i noticed a filter but id like to sleep at night if i choose not to clean the system

thanks guys

WSM makes them aftermarket. If the gear is worn most likely the rotary valve is hanging up causing drag. The rotary valves have a tendency to warp. Any motorcycle shop can get these through parts unlimited for around 30. each. Valve part number 006-159. Rotary gear part number 010-450.

funny i was wondering why the gear would go like that when it gets so much oil, i will get another valve for sure thanks for the info bro! looks like our local AM parts place has them but ill need to wait till monday

thanks speedi

Since you have the bottom end split pull the crank out a little bit and check to make sure the bearings are good with no play or hardspots. Ive had one that ate the rotary gear and the two center bearings had enough play that it caused the crank to deflect and eat up the gear wot under a load. Another thing is there is a spring that holds tension on the brass gear bombardier part number 420-9388. Ive had the gear shred on one because the spring lost its tension due to heat Iam guessing. The new spring was twice the size of the one I took out. I would definately replace the spring and clips that hold it on, its only a few bucks.
