Wrong DESS switch

Hi Yall and thanks for the add.
I bought a 1995 seadoo GTX and have been trying to fix all the butcher jobs.
The previous owner removed the DESS switch and put in the red button style that takes the black crows foot to lift it up.
I would like to put in the OEM DESS switch.
Does it need to be programmed for this year?

The standard crow foot switch will not work.

You can buy the correct DESS post but you have to have a lanyard programmed to the MPEM. The MPEM stores the code, not the DESS post.

Thanks Mikidymac, they must have changed the wiring somewhere then because I can get it to start. That scares me even more knowing it's not supposed to work.
I get back home this weekend from traveling for work and will post a couple of pics.
