Wrapped rope around driveshaft, now feels like cavitation

It's back together! Wow, that's tough to work with. I could fit half my hand between the gas tank and the engine, basically my fingers. I backed the truck up to the ski so I could lay on the tailgate and be right in the engine compartment. My 10 year old lifted the shaft assembly from the back and we spent quite a while guessing until finally it dropped into place. Then we put things back together and got the driveshaft back in.
The only thing off now is the seat. I believe I have the dreaded gray fuel lines, and the fuel gauge doesn't work, so now's the time to tackle those two things.

I fixed the fuel gauge sending unit today. It was the F1 fuse.
I have replaced some of the fuel lines. I have the vent line done (what a PITA), and the fuel selector lines.
I still need to do the return lines and the supply line from the water separator to the carbs. I hope I can get those done without pulling the carbs.
I am keeping track of how much fuel line I use, I found conflicting reports on the amount of line needed. I purchased 15' of 5/16" and 7.5' of 1/4", it looks like I am going to have quite a bit of 5/16" extra and I am going to have to get more 1/4" line.

You are using 100% stainless steel hose clamps? Make sure you get them tight. Try to turn them on nipple once tight. Look at gasket on water separator / fuel filter up front. They cause all kinds of problems. If bad it's easier the suck air the fuel. It will drive you nuts! We don't laugh at you. We are here to help you brother! Welcome and ask questions.

It's alive! It's not quite jet ski season, but we still put it in the water and wow, does it run and drive well. Hopefully we can keep it that way all year. I bought a better Y to hook the rope up and bought the tube rope with the inflatable ball in the middle, so hopefully that all helps.
