Wow! My ski isn't as crappy as I thought it was.

LoL I took my overhauled 93xp out to play this weekend. Hopped and skipped around all day on the DE river. Towed a 1 man tube and a spotter with no trouble at all! (more on that in another post)

The machine ran great except for when my dopy spotter let the rope suck up into the intake before hitting the rear kill button I put there for that reason. Had to beach it, roll to the side, and crank the shaft backward to unwrap it. No damage...

Started tight turns, nose dives, and so on with no trouble from the machine. (I flew off three times :P)

There was a 02 XP screwing around as well. Figured out my top speed isn't but maybe 3kts below his... He ended up trying to turn it too fast and flipped it stern over bow. Provided assistance and found that his ski was totally flooded and only floating with the foam. Pumped it out with my portable pump and towed him in. I know he pulled the plugs but not much after that.

End of the day wasn't nearly as fun. Jacka** at the ramp nearly ran me over with his trailer saying I "shouldn't be allowed to launch them little pieces of shi* where fishermen and real boats are." After retrieving my ski and tying down I left. Whattaya know, moron is behind me and about 2' from the trailer with his high beams on. I was getting pissed but trying to just let it go because I wasn't interested in a fight. On the back roads he passes me on a double yellow and a passenger throws a beer bottles and hits my vehicle. They tried to run but I guess thought that I couldn't give chase. Onstar sent the police and the whole thing ended pretty badly. His boat and trailer slid off into a ditch and rolled his whole rig. Turns out what I thought was a 30yo was a drunken 18yo kid in his daddy's truck. My only words were "I hope you learned something." All of them were toted to the hospital in handcuffs. I was given a warning by state PD for "being involved in a chase."

Oh well, except for the dime-sized dent in my rear quarter panel there was no harm done to my equipment and no one at all was visibly hurt.

Later on...

Shoulda gave him a jet stream of love from the back of your machine and took off.. hahaha. Teach him for opening his mouth.

Wow! what an as*hole, he got what he deserved. his dad should've raised him better, now his truck and boat are wrecked.

I went out this weekend with my 92GTS and LOVED my fuel economy provided by the beloved 580. It's slow and steady, but fun to screw around with all day and explore new regions. It's cool that the GTS only needs like 2" of water to ride in, we went where no boats could go and then some. At the end of the day, a storm came up. As we were approaching the dock, some frantic guy told me to go help the little sail boat that flipped over. I went and scooped the remaining floating passenger, dropped him off at the dock, then went back for the sail boat. We clipped my tow line to it and I was steadily bringing her in, despite the fact that the keel and bow were making her dive. Several min. later, the owner tried to tell me something from a boat that picked him up; I put my ski in reverse and accidentally ran over my line, sucking it up and breaking it. It got sucked up pretty good and I had to call it a day.
I surprised at the power my little ski exerted in towing that sailboat (mast and all dragging in the water). There was no harm done with the rope/impeller incident, and all in all, it was a great day. No rowdy jerks at the ramps to cause any trouble here.

Yeahhhhh I really wish I could hang on to more fuel. I brought a spare can of 2 gallons with me and ended up burning 10gal for the day.

Haha, I know all about bringing extra fuel. I went to Home Depot and bought the biggest plastic tote they had. Then I had to custom-make steel brackets to bolt the thing onto my trailer. I now bring along with me an extra 20Gal of fuel anywhere I go. With two 787's, I know I'll need it.
