Working on breaking in rebuilt eng on 96 gtx and have noticed a water leak at the WCV. Question is where can I get a replacement outlet washer. The website I use to get part info doesnt give a part number just has xxx. And cant find any place other than ebay for the whole thing. The washer looks to be one big corroded glob. Not sure if that is the issue but I know I need a new one.

Were the bellows springs in place? It should not drip on the outside. I'd just buy a used Water Control Valve off Ebay from a reputable dealer and make sure the inside housing sleeve is in place and not moving around. This was the one on my wife's GTX that was leaking. Of course... her's was faster before I fixed it and it is still faster than mine. LOL Good Luck.Water Control Valve2.jpgWater Control Valve.jpg

Everything looked as it should be other than the corroded washer. Is was a slow drip from bottom of the valve housing at idle. Will try and take a few pics if it stops raining but probably not til tomorrow.

Honestly, just spend the money and buy a brand new one. Worth it in the long run. When you're missing a couple 100 rpm and you chase yourself looking for it and you realize it's your water control valve that isn't up to snuff.

The dealer.

Procalibur out west. Create an account...it's free. You should get discount pricing. Possibly free shipping. When you get the new one look at the brass nipple that goes into the water box, there's a number on it. Verify the number on the new one. You can switch your old fitting over. Or simply measure the inside diameter of the hole. I can't remember if that fitting is a metered fitting. I know I've just put them on and ran. But measure to be sure. I didn't verify that part number for your application so. You can do that here

You can use the drop down menus to get to your machine. If the part number has been superseded it will say so ads give you the current part number. I then will Google that number to make sure it's the latest part number.
