Whats the difference between these two impellers?

Hi all, my boat's been cavitating badly so have decided to change impeller, wear ring and carbon seal.

I ordered what I was told was the correct impeller for my sporster LE DI. the one on the right is from the boat, the other is the replacement, they are the same size and the splines are the same, the only difference is the curves on the edges from the one that was previously installed, the new one seems quite squared off....whats the difference, will my performance change? How?

looks to me like someone sucked up some rocks and ground it down to get rid of the damage

The one in the pump is a Skat-Trak "Swirl" impeller. The one on the left is a NuJet impeller. It's just how those manufactures design their impellers.

If you have BAD cavitation... replace the carbon seal also, and make sure to install a new gasket between the pump and the ride shoe.

Thanks Dr Honda, thats good to hear, I was worried I was going to suffer some power loss or something! I did have bad cavitation, I also have a new carbon seal, and when you say gasket, are you talking about the neoprene seal?

What do I need to remove to change the Carbon seal? I already have the impeller housing off.
