So I was looking and the bracket that holds the bottom of the shock on for the seat is broken. This is actually a mixed blessing. I was able to lift up the seat and the shock and see that BINGO that rubber piece between the two drive shafts is missing. I think since the carbon ring is wore down and the bellows is sofft the drive shafts seperate and the rubber piece went flying somewhere down there and its nowhere to be found. The good news is yes the metal shavings you see inthe pictures are from the two shafts rubbing together but they dont show any major damage. And if I remove my zip tie trick I did on the bellows I can slide the rear shaft back enough to seperate the two and get that rubber piece in and then slide them back together. This way I dont have to take it all apart since I dont have an engine alignment tool. And then Ill weld my seat back together propperly. So since I have a broken seat I dont have to remove the carrier bearing for the time being and can at least see how I like the ski this summer. If I decide to keep it I'll tear it all apart this winter and make sure its good, replace the bellows and carbon seal, and get ahold of a tool and realign everything propperly.
