Would someone critque my methods...

Before hand, I just make sure it has fuel. (1qt of oil for every 10 gallons of gas)

Make sure the battery was on the charged the night before, and usually just make sure it starts up before i leave the house.

--------------------------------

After I get it back on the trailer, i pull the plugs in the back let the water drain out and take it on home (after its strapped in)

When i get home, I usually wash and dry it.

I hear people say they flush it (Not sure what that means)

What else should i be doing? Maintaining? Ect?

Thanks,

JC

You should put your boat make and model etc. In your avatar so we at least no if your talking about a seadoo.

:agree: it woudl be very helpful to know your boat and engine(s) but with my challenger; i always turn both the battery and gas off after putting it on trailer; but we will be able to offer more suggestions once we know what boat we are talking about

Flushing is important. Your boat should have connectors to attach a garden hose. You screw in the hose (or buy a quick connector) and then turn the engine on. Only after engine is running you can go ahead and turn on water. After 2 or 3min turn water of FIRST then give the engine a few quick revs and turn engine off.
I always turn the engine on one last time before storing it and give it a few more revs to clear out as mush water as possible.

Is running fresh water thru the engine to flush out any salt or sediments that might collect inside the water passages.
