What is this, and what does it do?

After my 1st real ride with my 2003 GTI LE I saw the cooling system bleed outlet (pisser) working on the port side but not starboard. I figured it was clogged or something. Well after looking around I couldn't see where it should have connected to bleed out the air and water. I know I have 2 small...somethings on the starboard side but according to the manual they only speak about one on the port side. Even the manuals diagram shows a dot to represent them but does not label what they are. So, if the little "things" on the starboard side are not pissers, what are they? I'll take a photo tomorrow morning if nobody answers it before I wake up.

On my 97 gtx and 98 gsx ltd that’s where the fuel breather is I believe

Thst makes sense. I'll check to see if there are any lines running from the tank to it.

I think dpmca13 was correct. Here is a manual diagram that shows them.

One is a battery vent, look for a hose from up front to battery area

+1 to toby. One is a battery vent there should be small line running back to the battery area. With today's AGM batteries though it may have been taken out.
