Hello All,

We are looking to buy a SeaDoo and have budgeted 5000K - what can we expect for this (year, hours, models?) and what should we watch out for?

Thanks for whatever input can be given my very general question!

There are several recent additions to the Seadooforum that have fallen in the 5k range. Late 90s or early 2000s boats are selling in that range.

Are you looking for a boat or PWC?

You may even find something that doesn't need any work!

Bigler - thank you for pointing out my typo! Yes we are looking for something in the 5K range ...

Scooper77515 - thank you too - we are looking for a PWC, preferably a 3 seater, powerful enough to pull a wakeboarder or waterskier

haha. yeah well on a more serious note, 5k should get you a newish seadoo. (04-06) If you find something a little over $5,000 dont be afraid to offer the seller $5,000, most people just want to sell it fast.

when buying a new seadoo, make sure the inside is clean and double check the hull for damage. some people will buy a new seadoo and when they have problems like these right away will try to sell them. if you think you found a really good deal, make sure there isnt anything seriously wrong with it.

There are nice ones out there

Hi,
Last August we bought an 02 GTX RFI with trailer and cover for $4500. Very nice machine hard to tell from new. Granted new ones have 200 plus HP but for way less than 1/2 the $ we are very happy.

You should have no problems in this market doing much better than that.

there lots of good bargins out there now. I just got two 2003 GTX's 4-tec 155hp with tailer one had 60hrs and the other 115hrs with trailor for 6,000 the only thing wrong was one need a ware ring and each had a few nicks on hull. I did do a compression check and all had at least 140 lbs or more pressure in the jugs. So shop around.
