Wear Ring replacement

It is time for me to replace the wear ring in my 1997 GSI and I have a couple of questions. Is there any advantage to putting in an AM stainless steel ring on a stock set up? Are the non OEM plastic wear rings as good an option as the OEM? I have always bought OEM parts and used them but when you start looking at the difference in prices one has to ask. Ski is mainly used on fresh water and not beached. may get occasional use in the salt water.

I think it might depend on where you operate.

Stainless would appeal if you often suck junk through b/c it's pretty tough. Otherwise I expect OEM style should have better performance due to tighter tolerance.

I intend on trying the delrin material for my replacement, when/if the day comes. Delrin reminds me of nylon but arguably tougher b/c I'm pretty sure it has less memory elasticity, to give you an idea. Look it up
