1997 seadoo GTX.
Was coming into dock after a ride, sucked up weeds. Motor was struggled. Engine quit.

Long story short I suspected I already had carb issue - and had that fixed.

Back in water - engine sounds good, throttle response is good - creeps along when put in gear.

Give it gas and it revs nicely but produces next to no thrust.

Pump is clear of weeds.

The wear ring has a gap on the top and is nice and on the bottom.

Anyone ever see that before?

I’m not sure how it could wear on just the top and not the bottom.

I’ll try and attach pics.

For what it’s worth I don’t see a lot of obvious scratches and such.

The wear ring does not seem to line up with the housing either.

There is a lip, or shelf on the one side of the housing where it meets the ring, and the opposite on the opposite side of the wear ring / housing.

I would pull the pump and inspect it, looks like you will need a new wear ring
