I did my own Oil Change for the first time ever a few days ago since being winterized last year.
I put in exactly the same amount of oil as I took out (4 litres and bought proper oil and filter from seadoo dealer)
Problem is it was way too much oil it seemed on the dipstick. But this was the same amount of oil that a dealer put in last year and it ran great all year. (Also I wasn't sure about the oil level because those dipsticks are awful)
So I took some oil out, then took it on the lake within 5 minutes of riding it, it bogged right down to nearly stalling. Then it picked back up and ran normal. It ran fine at high speeds. Had great acceleration. Got to 70 mph no problem.
I don't know why it bogged down like that to almost stall out after 5 minutes of riding, then fixed itself.
The major problem now is that when idling, it sounds kinda rough. Like its struggling. Never sounded this way before. Is there a logical reason for this? Plugs dirty? too much oil?
I filled with brand new fuel from empty before I went out, and again, had the exact same amount of oil as last year even a little less. Im still reading over the full mark on the dipstick.
Im selling the seadoo this week and want to make sure its perfect for the guy.
Thanks!
