Hi all. My son purchased a 2000 GTX RFI about 3 weeks ago. Its been quite fun. he even managed to flip it over on his 1st time out (yet I did not on the two times i had it out before him, hahaha) and had to get towed in. Unfortunately, he did not remember to clamp off the cooling water intake hose so I got to perform the flooded engine maintenance. During that time the info center was working. Yesterday, we finaly made it back out to the lake and i noticed that info center was no longer working and there was water on the LCD screen. Today, I removed the info center from the ski and was able to drain and blow out most of the water. but there is still some on the LCD. In your experience, can this be salvaged or do we need to get a new display? Its a p/n 278001541. I serched the forum and found a few similar threads, but none quite like it, so I hope we can get a good answer and help others in the process.
Thanks
Don

Welcome to the seadoo forum Don. The info center is a sealed unit. I would see if it drys on it's own. You can't open it up as it would be destroyed. They are expensive to replace, so I would just wait to see what happens with it. It might clear up from the sun.

Actually, the rubber grommet around the wires was not hard to pull out. I removed 3 screws from its retainer and then pulled it out. So its not entirely a sealed unit.

It is sealed in the respect it can't be serviced. It is air open so it won't fog up from moisture.

BTW, i just checked it a few minutes ago, the sun has baked the wet spot down to about 3/8 in dia, it started at around 3/4 inch. Just hope it will work again.
