Finally got around to tearing down my engine after I blew a hole in the crank case. Still working on getting the head off to see exactly what went wrong, but I am noticing some odd rust looking stuff on my head top piece. Is this from water getting in there?

Also just got it all apart and figured out why it all fell apart. PTO crank rod shaft had no bearing in it any longer. All the rollers must have came out and bounced around inside the case.

The head is aluminum, it won't rust.

What does the piston look like. It looks like you had a lot of material bouncing around in the combustion chamber. Looks like the rollers, and other parts, made it up top and hammered everything.

Its almost like a rust red/brown color. Just a bunch of dust type stuff. I guess all the stuff bouncing around in the case made its way up and starting getting turned into dust during combustion

Piston is fine, just coated in debris. Rod and underside was silverfish in color, my guess is from metal shavings. Head is in good shape. Replacing head and pistons either way.
