Dear Forum-Members!
I found this forum during a fainting search for my engine error through google. I life in germany and I just own the Sportster LE a couple of weeks.
I tried the search function in this forum but I think my error is pretty uncommon, because I unfortunately did not found anything related to it.
But here is the mistake:
The engine (947 DI) runs quite good, no problems. But there is coming cooling water out of the engine. (I think that this is cooling water because it feels warm) I attach a technical picture of the engine, where I marked the hole where the water is coming out in red colour.
The problem is that this is running down the machine and dropping in the bilch. Now the bilchpump was broken and there is always coming more water in. As i fixed the bilch pump, it startet to pump out the water. But the constantly waterflow over the engine into the bilch can not be good for the engine I think. There is always coming water out of the red marked hole, it only drops out there constantly, not a strong beam, only streaming, but constantly.
My suggestion was that there is a plug installed in this hole, which normally closes it constantly but crackes out if the engine freezes in the winter (and was not well winterizated). Could this be?
Can you help me? Any suggestions? Engine broken?
Thank you..
By the way, do you know if the spare parts dealer who is sponsoring this forum will send the spare parts to germany aswell?
Best regards,
Michael
