VTS Guage

Hello everyone,

having an issue with the reading for the VTS gauge on a 99GSXL. I get the proper Resistance reading all the way to the harness using the two brown wires up to the MPEM. However, when I trace those leads to where it should feed that resistance to the gauge from the MPEM, I get nothing. Even if I hit the start button to power everything up. So, effectively the readings stop at the MPEM. This is consistent with no bar showing up on the gauge itself as far as trim position.

Hoping to get some insight. Thanks!

Hi Themist456, Im having exactly the same issue, VTS works perfect as it should but the lcd display for the VTS only does not have any markings at any point at all, did you find the reason?
I have also done extensive checks on my 2003 XPDi and all resistances up to the mpem are as they should be but nothing from the mpem forward, i have also done a continuity check on the wiring all the way up to the info gauge and all perfect.

Don’t think this is what either of us want to hear but i’ve just unplugged the connection from the rear of the analogue vts gauge on my sons Seadoo 1997 XP, putting a multi meter set to ohms on the two brown wires coming from the mpem still gives the correct readings even with the dess key removed. :(
This i think means the Mpem on both yours and my ski has an issue with the VTS signal from Mpem to gauge.
If anyone with serious electrical technical knowledge of these older skis has any ideas it would be very much appreciated.
