Vts blowing fuse

Trying to get my 96 xp ready for the lake and found out my trim is not working. Hit the button and I here a click but no movement. Checked 7.5 fuse and it was blown. Put new one in and it blew instantly. Open vts housing and it looked brand new inside. Took motor out and tested it in both directions and it worked fine. What's my next test or option?

Ok so with the motor out of the vts unit if I put a new fuse in and it blows that'll tell me it's the vts module that went bad? And when I hooked the motor up to a battery it spun in both directions good but it never stopped. Is it supposed to?

Blew the fuse with the motor also. So I'm thinking its gotta be the module? Sorry I'm new to all this

The module is typically what goes bad and will blow the fuse and sometimes even the MPEM.
