Sucked in some debris and believe I have damaged impeller/tolerances. Runs great at idle, however when I push throttle full ahead from dead stop, the engine over revs but does not generate immediate speed as I can feel vibration. Seadoo will speed up and finally plane out and then will reach high speed and work properly, however it the intermediate time there is trouble. Am I looking at replacement of impeller? Next steps?

Check the clearance between the impeller and wear ring. Measure it at teh center of the blade from the rear through the nozzle. It should be 1mm. Look to see any dents or damage to it. If so it might need to be reconditioned.

I had a similar problem with my boat. It would bounce off the rev limiter and it would take for ever to plane out. Come to find out my wear ring was toast and the impeller was all bent and chewed up. Replaced both and my mechanic took it for a ride and said it planes in about 3-5 seconds now. I would bet you have the same problem.
