my current vts housing is semi-working - the limit switches are ok, but it seems like one of the other switches is sticking or there's a conductive path in there that produces a low resistance for the gauge (rod and magnet removed). Hitting the side of the housing with a hammer can get the resistance to jump up a few ohms per whack - inconsistently.
read the dr. volts trim system analysis (look in the wayback machine for it or I can add a pdf to the thread), but he didn't talk about how he unpotted the circuit board.
since my vts is functional and only the gauge is affected, I'm not ready to destroy it experimenting with methods to remove the potting. Anyone have a bad vts they are willing to part with or have successfully removed the potting?
