Hello all, I am having some hard time starting my 2000 gtx, it has freshly rebuilt carbs and starts easily with starting fluid and runs great once its running. Any Ideas?
If you’re still running these clear fuel lines I would get rid of them, they get hard and brittle fast and I find they don’t fit correctly from the start. You can see air bubbles in th lines in your picture
Check your fuel lines and make sure they are NOT too soft or easily compressed. I fought a ski that had trouble starting. Some fuel lines were new so I didn't replace them. HERE is the problem... When the fuel pump strokes the line collapses and the pump doesn't move any liquid. Remember how small the fuel stroke is. If they line shrinks or collapses at all the pump can't work properly. Since I have encountered this problem I understand why Seadoo went with the STIFF gray fuel lines. I've never had issues with the hose I use because it is thicker but I bet the skis will run better with the more rigid fuel line. I've been restoring skis for a while now and I get down to the nitty gritty with these problems.
