Touring Seat?

I wouldn't mind one of these too. I don't think there were any as a direct part. The option I was looking at was creating my own base with the humps/indents where I want them, then having it trimmed at a local trimmer.

Don't flame me, but I rode a recent (2015?) Yamaha FX HO, and the seats were beautiful.

I don't think there is a "standard" touring seat for the 01,,, I know they had one for gti up until 2000.

So, It can certainly be done by just adding foam to the right place, then a custom cover, I did a similar change on my TX, but it cost three fiddy to pull it off.

stock style...

I didn't want to go higher for the driver seat but you could do the yamaha cruiser style and raise it up another inch or so. I told my seat guy that I wanted to meet it halfway, but not quite to the yamaha height.

I have the 2000, which has the longer part in the front and then the small seat in the back. I thought there was a GTX seat with the hump that fit the GTI but can't really remember where I read that.

I like your custom seat you had made. There aren't any shops local to me that would be able to make that.

My plan was to keep it looking exactly like stock. I need a seat cover and it looks like I'll have to go with a custom cover. If I'm going to do that I'd like to either find a touring seat, if they exist, and have it covered. Or, build onto my seat they way you did, and have it covered. A custom seat would probably be more comfortable than whatever touring seat was available back then.

I toyed with it both ways, and in my example it was already $180 for a "standard" seat so it was only $170 more for a custom seat.... so I went ahead with it.

I don't think you can get a standard/boring seat for the 2000 for less than $120-130 shipped anyway, so, spending $200ish might not seem ridiculous.

Maybe I should buy another seat to send off and have built up so I still can use my seadoo while its being made.

I know of an upholstery shop that may be able to do something like that. Also M Line is a little over an hour away, I know they make covers, maybe they can make the foam part too.
