Alright guys I am totally stuck and am super frustrated. Getting ready to give in and take my 2003 sea doo gti le to the stealer. Here is my issue:
Someone in my household tried to jump start the ski from another running boat. It fried the diode on the MPEM. I dug out and replaced the diode and the MPEM is now in working order. I know this because I tried it on a 2004 gti that I also have and it started right up. Now, when i place the lanyard on the post i hear the relay in the back electrical box click but that's it. No starter, no gauges, nothing. When i press the start button several times (lanyard on post) i get a short beep followed immediately by a long beep. When i remove the lanyard i get no consequent beeps. I have replaced the stater solenoid, ignition coil, cables, plug boots, and plugs in the event there was a short somewhere but the problem persists. I have replaced the DESS post from the working 04 gti and still nothing. I have replaced the start button from the working04 gti and still nothing. Same effect, click from the relay in the back electrical box and nothing else. I replaced the very same clicking relay from the working 04 gti and also nothing. I have tested the voltage and continuity at the harness that plugs into the MPEM, all of the pins check out and have identical reading to the working 04 git. So? Is there something that I'm missing? Please help, i'm pullin my hair out.
note: after swapping the post and start switch from the working 04 gti i installed the 03 (non functioning ski) post and start switch to the working 04 gti and it was fine. Meaning the post and start switch originally on the 03 were fine.
