TOPS valve removal

Question—how does one remove the TOPS valve for gutting or replacement? When I remove the two bolts holding the flange, the body pulls up 1/2” or so but the stem doesnt want to come out. Do I need to remove entire housing? Thx

You should download the engine manual, 2005 is below .
Pull off the entire housing/cover assembly.
Let us know if this does not cover what you need. Will need to take off small snap rings to pull the discs off.
You may want to buy new seals/O-rings to put the cover assembly back on.
