whats supposed to be my top speed ?
im currently getting 55-56mph

also i heard stuff about Solas impellers that can improve it? by how much?

You're right on the money with the speed. As far as an different pitch impeller goes, I wouldn't do it on a 155. With impellers it's a give an take scenario. You want top speed? You can have it but you'll lose acceleration. I would consider more pitch if you had the horsepower to spin that impeller and not give up any acceleration. The 155 isn't that case. It's very hard to make more power with it to offset the extra load of a steeper pitch impeller. You'd lose a bit of out of the hole punch and maybe gain 1-2mph on the big end. To me that's not worth. Once you get into the supercharged models then you have a different animal to work with.

i see now, thanks for explaining :)

Mine typically tops out at 53 maybe 54. Conditions have to be perfect with premium fuel in the tank to get to 55 which I've only done once.

Not sure about the 2010, but I can hit 60 with both of my 2002 GTXs (155) at sea level. Remember you will lose horse power with altitude.

Is it a GPS measurement? I'm maybe 500 feet over sea level but I suspect the 2002 is lighter so it is likely faster. My 215 is much faster than my 155, but i believe both use GPS to measure speed.

I doubt you'll see 60 on GPS. Maybe on the on board dream-o-meter but not on GPS

I only got 58 on my 03 GTX S/C with 185 ponies. Safe to say I was disappointed. I was thinking with all that muscle, it'd do at least 60...

I have an 05 GTX SC ( 185hp ) if the stars and planets align just right and the weather is cool I have seen 61 mph on GPS, typically it runs 58 to 60 mph.

If you get a Skat Impeller, you will normally gain over-all. The reason is, the impeller has multiple angles that help with both the low end as well as the top end. But the top end is often only 1 MPH kind of thing. What the skat does is, give better low end and mid range but not lose on the top end.

Do the S/C skis just take off faster than the 155's? Top speeds being so close, I'm wondering what the real point of the S/C is. I haven't ridden both, and hence am wondering.

SC skis do everything better. I own a 155 and a 255. Out of hole is probably the closest thing they do. Top speed is easily 20 to 25 different and mid range performance is not even close.

+1. The 155 is very pedestrian in comparison.
