2004 155hp Sporster, only 51hours on the motor and just serviced......This is my 6th boat, and by far the best boat I've ever had, I've had small boats, jetskis, ski boats, and off shore boats....I'm glad I got experience all those, cause they make me love this boat that much more.
We ran across big tug boat waves, and 20mph winds under choppy conditions.....it handled better than my 18ft ski boat, the ONLY time we got wet, was when i did a donut back into my own wake.
We ran at about 5200rpm at 25mph for 25 miles, and it used 5.4 gallons of fuel, so that was about 4.6mpg...not bad coming from my 2.5mpg offshore boat, I'm going to test out 6000 rpm and see what that returns...unless someone can give me some ideas..
Mine only tops out at 43mph, but I do not like going WOT for long as I feel is shortens the life of the motor.
All in all, I think I finally found a boat I'm going to stick with for a good while.
I think the best thing I like about the boat, is the comfort and the feel of it being like a sports car, the tight performance and response....I also got comments all day, even after getting pulled over by the coast guard, they thought it was a good looking craft.
I need to make sure I keep it as clean as it is now!
