after installing a new cylinder/piston and rings on 1993 xp 657, it seems very hard to turn over by hand at the pto, is this normal or is something else going on? it does turn over all the way just seems like way to much compression? i should add that when the i took the cylinders back off to check, the crank turns over very good by hand?

SeaDoo has 8 different base gaskets... all different thicknesses. Check your squash band, and adjust the thickness of the gasket if needed.

If, you don't set the squash band corectly... there is a good chance that you will melt the piston crowns.

Also... I'm assuming it spins free with the spark plugs out.

Check it, and let us know what you find.

actually when the cylidners are installed ,no spark plugs in it, is when it seems to not want to free spin, i had thought in previous repairs to seadoo, that when the plugs are out it moves really easy when you spin the pto. also the cylinder head is not on when i was turning over?
