I have verified that it is not an issue with the cables, and the rear carb returns quickly, but the front one will not. It moves, but there is a slight drag on it.

Is there a quick fix, or is it the bushings on the butterfly?

Is this fixable with the Mikuni carb rebuild kit or do I need to buy the bushings separately? Part numbers?

yep,....need to buy seperately. Mine did the same, lubed up bushings well, and at hardware store, purchased double hoop spring, attached to PTO carb and to outlet hose, returned back, perfectly...

scooper, try this out. I ended up going through this till 2 in the morning last night and after 3 hour today I figured it out. One of the bolts that hold the carb down was a little over tight and binded up. But after fixing that it was all good... Good Luck

Good idea on the tight bolt. I took the carb off and took out the butterfly, and lubed and worked it to where it turned better. It worked fine on the bench, but when I reinstalled it, it got tight again. I bet THAT is too tight of torque pinching it.

Glad you told me, because it was snapping back just fine on the work bench.

Another thing I did when I had it all apart...I wound the return spring one extra time for more pressure. It was a major hassle, and I damn near took a couple chunks out of my finger trying to do it, but it added a LOT more return pressure.

It was snapping back really good until I put it back on the boat, so I think I cranked it down too tight.
