Any opinions on this versus a 3 up Spark?

Price is higher but not THAT much higher.

I like the Spark but I think I like the larger GTS better? Better towning etc.?

Any help appreciated!

Chilmonty - I was in the same position recently because I was looking for 4 Sea-Doo's and the Spark was certainly an option as I would be saving overall money. My deciding factor was my use - I will be primarily using them on the Atlantic Ocean (Daytona Beach) where waves can become larger fast. The fiberglass vessel is much heavier and also MUCH more stable in seas and with weight as I tested each before buying. The power is noticeable on the 130HP vs. the 90HP. And even though the seats on either vessel really don't comfortably fit 3 people I found it next to impossible on the 3-up (for adults). Trailing the spark I noticed the trailer bounced more and you really need to strap it down good - Did not see this issue with the GTI. Storage is available stock on the GTI at a larger capacity then the Spark and maintenance is easier to access. The Spark hull has to be completely separated in order for service. Depending on storage options - The Spark is about 350 pounds and can literally be lifted from your trailer and thrown into a truck bed to be stolen fast. You are going to have to want to take the GTI models by trailer if you are going to steal them where you can purchase easy locking systems to deter any would be thief. I therefore ended up with 4 GTI SE models this week. The GTI colors rock! There are so many other reasons but here are a few. Hope this helps some!

I would go with the GTI if you can swing it. A lot more ski for not a whole lot more money compared to the spark you are looking at.

Chilmonty the craigslist RXT looks pretty good. Can't really tell if its a great deal though. I always go new when thinking of a PWC if you can swing it (warranty).

I was in the same position but with only a 450 lbs capacity including fuel was not much especially if towing a child. I am sure the spark could do it but what would the wear on the engine be in the long run. Went with the 130 gti se.

If you are wanting larger I would go with the GTS. The Spark is made to be more of a nimble machine. I have a feeling the GTS is better suited for you.

Thanks for the replies guys!
After visiting the seadoo shop that only had Sparks, a GTI SE and up for skis, I went and looked at this one and it came home with me!

I now finally have 2 Seadoos (no waiting)! Ha.
My GTI LE is running great and this SEEMS to be great also, I hope, yikes???

It started right up, everything looked good, sounded good, oil was clean,
body is excellent, 78 total hours on ski, trim functioned perfect, wear ring looked
almost new, and my son is gonna SHITE!

I know I will need super charger rebuild at 100 hours, but any tips are appreciated!

I have the 09 RXT-X with the 255. I am telling you right now, you will be AMAZED.
What year is that?

If the SC hasn't been rebuilt it will need to be no matter how many hours are on it due to age. You should not have Ceramic Washers and you have the updated exhaust valves. Those are all good things. My 09 just 72 mph in very slight chop. It seems to like the air a bit. Totally glass it hits 68. Totally stock

Is there anyway to tell if I DO NOT have ceramic washers without takin apart??

No,, however,,, 08 is NOT suppose to have them. I say "suppose" as we have some of the early builds in 2008 have them. But again, no matter what it has in your case, it needs rebuilt. It is 100 hours or, 2 years... You are WAY past the 2 years. The years issue is important as, the bearings and squirrel cages get brittle and break, and when they do, they fall into the engine.

OK, I understand now. I will use it this weekend, cause I can't NOT go drive it!

Then I will see if can take the S charger off and send it to PWC muscle for the rebuild.

I think I saw in the manual I have been reading, that the info center will give a code telling
you the SC is due for rebuild. Does the system detect issues or is it just a programed at 100hrs thing?

Thanks for the info CoastieJoe!

No info on the dash or anything like that. If you update to the 09 and newer stuff, Seadoo says they are good for 200 hours. But few will hit the hours before the hit the 2-year time interval.

And I don't blame you at all, you do HAVE to go ride it... LOL

Most push beyond the time interval, I have myself. That said, I would not press the hour interval AND the time interval...

Enjoy the ski, like I said. You will be shocked at the performance, (Assuming there is no wear ring issues or anything like that).
