Dunno what "kits" you're talkin about but....

I got a 158* thermo in my ski instead of the stock one. Ski runs a lil cooler in summertime...not as much heat fade ect. Mine cost me....I dunno...$40 or so. I used the boiling water and channel lock method...easy mod.

humm my temp gage, lake or engine, never sees above 82
wondering if thats on the way out, always been that way,
on the bay the other day lake temp 32 motor temp 50

Your ski doesn't have engine temp on the gauge. "E TEMP" stands for environment temp.....outside air temp.

now that clears things up, was looking on the parts scamatic
and i dont see a thermo any benifit of changing
or leave it alone?

Yea, it won't show a thermostat because it's inside the water pump housing. Personally, I'd leave it alone.

does this go in the factory spot?
or some kinda add on?

It's a direct factory swap out.

I dunno what the E and L are supposed to stand for..... I think if it like this, E is the air around my engine, L is the lake water temp.

Maybe for you up in NY the summer time heat won't be a big deal....when you start dropping 2-3mph or more come July/Aug like most of us....you may reconsider swapping out the oem thermostat.

Red2Blue do you no what the factory thermostat is digrees?
also im still a firm beliver and i will get the data--the temp inside that hull hot motor-- sun-- virses out side air has got to be steller, im thinking what an aftermarket
intercooler cools the air to, if drawing out side air the factory one will match it
I have a hand held weather station that i will put in the hull and record temps
just at the mouth of the intake what ever the difference is from out side
will be the difference at the cylinders
