The new '09 models

I figured I would start a brand new thread to discuss instead of writing at the bottom of another one.

Thoughts on the new models? Likes/dislikes? Anybody know what the bigger 255 hp motor price premium will be?

I own a challenger 180 so will comment on that one. The new motor is great. Personally, I don't think its needed but I understand hp numbers sell. I do very much like the fact that the SE model now has two more speakers up front. Its definitely a needed improvement. The gas tank also expanded from 28 to 32 gallons. For me, completely not important, but maybe it will be for others. It looks like they maybe changed the dash console color a bit. Not important to me.

They also changed the graphics on the side of the boat. Personally. I love our '08 blue color scheme. I'm sure the new designs will grow on me, and I think the red is WAY better than the gold they had for '07-08.

One thing I'm curious about. Is the bottom half of the boat painted red/blue or is it just sticker graphics? If stickers, It will be EXPENSIVE to replace when they get banged up. If painted, will it be white underneath when it gets chipped?

Its always exciting to see the new models and a little scary for current owners. Overall, I'm very happy with the continued progress but also happy they didn't do anything to make me regret my '08 purchase.

Almost forgot. They added bow and cockpit covers too this year. Definitely a nice addition. I had to purchase a full boat cover for mine. If I had to pay for one or the other I'd choose my full cover as it protects the entire top of the boat. A free bow/cockpit cover would have been nice though!

Whoa, anybody else notice the pricing of the '09s just went up. I swear yesterday the '09 challenger 180 was listed for $24,xxx.00 Today its listed 25,199 for the base and 27,399 for the SE. It looks like what they did was make the 255hp engine standard on the SE, hence the higher price. Overall, probably not too bad a penalty for the extra power.

I wrote down the prices of most of the 08 boat a couple hrs befor the 09 were up but cant find them ****me, ill post them if i find it...
