yesterday after riding for a while i stopped and looked at the motor when i noticed a trickle of water coming in through the boot cover over the output drive shaft, i moved the boot and the water poured in! what could this be? i tried to tighten the clamps on the boot but that did nothing. maybe a seal gong to the jet ppump and would i have to remove the entire jet pump to check it out?

It's probably the carbon seal, you will need to rebuild the drive shaft. You will need to remove the pump to do this.
