I have a 98 and 99 GTX LIMITED. The 98 has a tach and the 99 does not. Shame on me - I haven't done the research I could (just yet anyway). I saw these two items on eBay and was wondering if this could work out...IMG_0899.JPGIMG_0900.JPG

Note the listing for the tach seems to indicate my model although no tach is listed for my model on any Sea-Doo parts list I have seen... I'm pretty sure the instrument back plane would fit my hood, but I haven't compared the 98 gauge size against the 99 yet. I don't even know if the wiring harness has a spot to hook the tach up? Even if the one in the add would fit and IF there is a wiring spot to connect to, how would I know if this would work as my machine doesn't have a Sea-Doo part number to compare it to? Am I just spinning my prop here? I would like to know my rpms...

switch your info center to RPM.

OMG. Time to start learning more about my machines I guess. I was just saying to my buddy that I haven't looked at the info center stuff at all yet. Replaced motors, fuel and oil lines, fuel selectors, rebuilt carbs with all new Mikuni parts - cleaned out gas and oil tanks and washed out the hulls. We have had 3-4 rides on them. Enough to be half way through 2nd tanks of gas. I noticed that there is a clock, compass, and fuel gauge, but I haven't even pressed any of the buttons for them yet. Still like the triple gauge set up on the 98 though. Nothing like just glancing down at a big gauge..... thanks for the tip!
