Tach in Challenger 1800

Hey,

The left side motor tach isn't working, and I know that the tach gets its pulse from the motor which is plugged into the stator (right?) How do I chase down the problem if it isn't working, and the plug looks ok? Thanks for the help. Sorry about all the questions finally got this thing running this summer, and now I want to take care of all the little stuff

Well I just took the tach out of the boat, and took it apart, the needle doesn't stick, and now I don't know where to go from here. The fuses are fine, and the wires seem to be good. Whats next?

Seems like these tachs are having a life span of 8 - 12 years.
You can do a search on "tach or tachometers" on the forum and you can see all the problems and the fixes that other members have tried.
