2008 gtx 155 is giving a little surge when crushing thru no wake zones at appx 2000 rpms It otherwise seems to run totally fine. This ski is new to me, first weekend riding it or any ski for that matter. Dumped a little Seafoam in tank to see if it helped but didn't notice any difference even after 2 hrs. Ski now has 74 hrs

I've noticed lately more mentions of surging issues for 4-tec, sounds suspiciously like a small air leak in/around the intake manifold or throttle body somewhere but that's just a hunch.

I had a surging issue on my brand new GTR 215. With just 22 hours on it, I started troubleshooting and found all three plugs to have a breakaway torque that was MUCH less than the 17ft/lbs recommended. I was installing some Brisk plugs anyway, so after I properly torqued the plugs, all surging issues stopped. You may want to replace your plugs and then, make sure they're properly torqued.

Great. Thx, will try the plugs. They are easy and cheap. Btw, do I need to remove any special parts to access the plugs or just un snap the cover, remove coil and unscrew plugs? I have never tackled this project. Seems like it should be easy but not sure on gtx155

How do you cruise at 2000rpm? No throttle for me i.e. no wake....is still 1750-1850. When I lean on the throttle....even a little the bow starts comin up....exhaust picks up....every cop in the neighborhood would look my way.

No thanks.

Careful removing the coils. Use anti seize on the new plugs.

Just unplug the coils, remove them, inspect the rubber cap isn't dry rotted.

When installing new plugs, use some anti-seize on the top 1/3 of the threads and dielectric grease on the threads of the top of the plug that will fit into the coil.

Removing the cover should be as simple as removing the oil dipstick and then popping the plastic cover off the engine.

I replaced the relatively new, dealer installed plugs with brand new plugs, torqued properly. Still surging. Kinda hate this characteristic. Still looking for tips to fix this and or things to inspect. It's not horrible but it is distinct. Would love to cure it.
