supercharger question

I just bought a 2006 GTX LTd with 38hrs on it and I have a question about the supercharger.

I've been advised to get the supercharger updated to the new washers that if I don't it will sure and come apart and take out the engine.

Is this ture?

I'm a 60 year old easy ride and all I do is cruise around on it, I have taken it up to max speed and couple of times, but most of the time cruising around at 40mph.

ya you still should its a hit or miss thing and can fail at any time. new metal washers from Riva are about $100.
