I sunk my 1997 seadoo xp 2 days ago, long story short the rubber hose that flows into the side of the waterbox sprung a leak filed up the machine and i went down in the river wondering what i should to to check over the moter i can not get it to turn over with the spark plugs in it will turn will turn over all day with no plugs

so far i have taken the head off cleaned out as much water as I could from the top end, there is no water in the fuel, the carbs never took on water they were completly dry when i checked them out i removed the exaust and remounted it, the exaust was completly full of water by the way, any advise would be great

i know you have to take the plugs out and keep turning it over by hand to try and get that water out of there before it messes stuff up.

other than that I'm not sure never sunk one thankfully.

hopefully others will chime in.

ya ive had the head off turned it over for a wile wiped out allthe water nothing is coming out now got er lubed up put the head back on and the i can basikly put my thumb over one of the spark plug holes and it wont turnover bat brand new fully charged and the starter with turn over all day its like thers water stuck some where ? .. is it possible to have filed the botom end up with water ?

ok sounds like a plan when u say carb butterflies what do u mean by that ? whats the maximum time i have to get the water out and whats the result if its sits for to long ? when i get this thing started should i let it run in or out of the water and im guessing probly let it idle for a while to let everything get back to normal correct ?
