Sucked up mud on 97 GP1200

Sucked up mud on 97 GP1200 RUns fine on hose. But when in the water it overheats the Water Lock on the exhaust.Water seems to be flowing out all the other hoses. Does it sound like a clog in the expansion pipe? Water is supposed to flow out of the exhaust correct?

the GPs have a little squirter out the left side under the rub rail..check to make sure that is putting out water..other wise it is clogged and its an idicator that your engine isn't getting cool water for cooling

Yes, water should flow out the exhaust. If not then the end of the expansion pipe is probably clogged (where the big exhaust hose connects).

Got it, THere was a Small rock/dirt in the expansion pipe 1/4 fitting
