Styrofoam in air intake boxes & flame arrestors
I popped open my air intake boxes the other day to find alot of styrofoam inside them. I figured it came from the previous owner putting speakers in the boat and not cleaning the styrofoam chunks/peices out first. I hadnt opened the air intake boxes previously, I had no real reason too.
I believe the carbs were being choked off because of this and was starving the engines for air. I havent had a problem with them starting or running...but I bet it has hindered the perfomance and altered my compession tests some, and may be why my carbs were so far out of sync. (One had more foam in it than the other.)
Hopefully the small particels that may have got past the flame arrestors didnt gum things up much. Has anyone experienced this before? Is there anything I should check or do?
