Strange Vibration

I was out on the lake yesterday and it was like glass I was cruising at around 40MPH then I stopped to make a phone call.
After the call, I hit the throttle and the ski started to vibrate, I let off the throttle and the ski idled normally and the engine sounds fine. I hit the throttle again and again it vibrated so I thought maybe I sucked something up when I wasn’t paying close attention but after idling all the way back to the ramp I inspected the bottom of the ski and nothing looked abnormal, no fishing lines or ropes or weeds of any kind.. I was in about 30 feet of water and I wasn’t wave jumping so I highly doubt I have bent anything or broken a engine mount.

I’ve been reading about wear rings going bad and one post suggested a bad spark plug could cause a vibration?? Any other ideas? It’s a 2007 Wake 155.

Sounds like you have something hung up on an impeller blade. The exact same thing happened to me. It was real hard to see up in there but after shining a flashlight up in there, i found a small piece of driftwood impaled on the outer edge of a blade between it and the wear ring. Easy removal; no damage to wear ring and she runs fine.

Yep, that was it. I crawled under with a flashlight and a mirror and found a dime size piece of driftwood. I Pulled it out with needle nose and no damage was done and it's working great again..

Thanks for the tip.

Any other suggestions for this type problem? Looked up in mine, and there is nothing foreign present. I also had the high temp beeper come on intermittently.

You may not be able to see the debris in the pump housing. The best thing is to pull the pump housing and check it out that way.

Will the main. light come on when something like that happens. Mine is doing the same thing, vibrating like crazy and the light comes on. Any ideas?
