Strange pump spacer issue. No longer needed?

I recently took my impeller off to send to impros and put in a new wear ring. I noticed the circlip had seen better days so I took it off as well as the oil seal below it. Unless it was fused together which I doubt, I didn't see the spacer that's in the diagram below:

So this what I see after taking off the clip and oil seal:

The part I should be looking at is the other seal but pictures online of it don't show this metal ring around it that is acting like a spacer. Appears to be attached. I can only fit the rubber oil seal and the circlip. Here's more pics to prove:

Here is the spacer, sits flush and there's no way you can add the seal and clip on top.

So what the heck is this? Should I just not put the spacer in and continue on? Don't want any water intrusion or any issues due to this not matching the diagram 100%. What do you guys think?

Nevermind! I realized after looking at the new seal that came in the mail today that although it looked like just rubber, it's actually metal with a rubber coating. So now I knew for sure what I'm looking at is the oil seal I though I removed in rubber chunks. The bearing on the other side is 100% fine but after taking the seal off noticed the spacer was ruined and there's salt and chunks inside. Cleaning up now!
