Strange Cable!

Ok, I know this goes to the radio but where does the red cable go to?

Is that a factory piece? Looks like the aftermarket antenna I bought for mine. On mine, it is basically a powered antenna. It plugs into the remote cable and then the red wire gets hooked to a power source.
