While getting everything ready for the summer (96 GTI), the steering was virtually locked up. I assumed it was the cable, but when I started to take it apart, turned out the steering column itself was stiff. Took it all apart and greased it up. Seems to be fine for now.
My question is whether or not this is a stop gap, or should I plan to put new bushings in (p/n 293900002). They don't seem to be readily available (seadoowarehouse.com), so I want to plan ahead.
