square carb from white engine on yellow engine

We put a square carb from a 93 seadoo on my 90 yellow engine- result = backfiring. are these carbs compatible and if so would anyone know the rotary valve setting needed?

Yes... it will work just fine. I converted my old Si to a SBN38. But, you have to jet it properly.

ok thanks alot- so the rotary valve gets set at 115

So all I get is one second of running and big backfires. Should the rotary valve be 115 for this carb or does that not matter?
