Sportster 1800 steering cable. Am I missing something?

Good Afternoon!
I have a 2000 SeaDoo Sportster 1800 with the 210 Mercury. Great boat but noticed the steering was pulling more and more to the left the faster I went. I ordered what is supposed to be the correct steering cable but the ends are pretty different.
The one on the left is the original(or the one that I took off at least). The one on the right is the SBT Steering Cable for Sea-Doo 204390216, but as you can see the threads are very different in length. Plus there is the interesting cut washer that I am really not sure what to do with because of it's size it cannot pass through the hull or the loop on the jet pump. Hopefully I am overcomplicating this but it does not make sense.
I have reached out to the technical support but no luck yet. Anyone have any experience and could give me some direction?

I replaced the steering cable on my 20 ' Challenger a couple of years ago. I do not remember either end looking like your cable on the right. It looked like the left pic.

The cables are not made by SeaDoo, but by suppliers like Teleflex. Heavy duty control cables; like the throttle cable, just bigger. If you can read the p/n on your OEM cable, you can order from that. I bought mine from eBay.

I doubt you will get support from SeaDoo. They and Mercury parted ways after putting boats together for about 5 years.

Don't forget to replace the rubber bellows.

Thanks for the response! There are no numbers still readable on the old cable but from what quick research I have done I think you are correct with the Teleflex (I think Dometic now) cable. They look extremely similar to the old one. Looks like I will be shipping this one back and ordering one of those once I measure it. Thanks again!
