I have a sportster le 2003. At the end of last season i noticed a power loss on top end. Only reving to 6000-6200 and not 7000 rpm, ALso noticed throttle responce on lower revs slow. I have found the problem with the low rev problem being a stuck rave valve.
The only way to describe the power loss top end is that it revs to 6000rpm all fine and then has a restrictor on it holding off the last 1000rpm.
I have noticed the boat is taking on water in the engine bay. Not from an external leak, And have found the rear exhaust box is loose. Would this cause the loss in top end power???
