Spark issues

Hey guys I have a 1996 seadoo gtx that will not turn over by the key. Guy put a brand new motor in and says the cdi box is bad. Is that the best place to start?

First things first.
Is it not starting or not cranking over?
Does it beep twice when you put the lanyard on?
Do the gauges come on when you push the start button 3 times without the lanyard?
Does it crank if you jump the solenoid?

It does not crank unless I jump the solenoid, I get no beeps or anything when key is on, no gauges nothing

Check your fuses and make sure sure sure that there are TWO black wires on your negative battery post. I can generally hear the holder relay pull in (small click) when I insert the DESS KEY. The Holder relay is up front in the gray box. Next I'd check the DESS Post and Start/Stop switch operation. Are the mag wires plugged in?
