I bought a 1996 Speedster last year. My wife and I have had great fun with it. The only thing that I would like is a way to attach the boat cover to the sides when we moor it. I am considering installation of snaps to the sides. 3 on each side should be plenty.

Has anyone done this before? Do you have any advice?

Many Thanks in Advance.

I haven't done it myself, but i'd think it would be pretty easy to do.

If you have the cover with the rachet in the rear, put up the polls and inside straps and it won't need any snaps

I wonder if you could provide a link to the boat cover that you are referring to. One that would fit my 1996 Speedster would be GREAT!
I have a boat cover that has a bungee cord around the fringe but no tension adjustment on it. It has a habit of turning into a soup bowl in the boat from time to time ;-)

Many Thanks,
Vaughn

The cover is designed to use the poles to keep rain from pooling. If you are storing in you garage you don't need them, but for towing and storing outside make sure you use them all the time (they only take a few seconds to install each time) They help keep the cover tight, which keeps it from flapping and makes it and the finish on you boat last longer. The cover ratchets down very snug. I regularly tow at 110kph (65mph) with the odd burst to irresponsible levels when passing, and the cover never moves.

Also Terri is one of the last few people that will go out of her way for customer service.

I picked up a 97' Challenger 1800, and it had those snaps, aligning the entire bow. Did not like it, always there, when cleaning/waxing boat, gets the crap all built up in it, and top'n it off, if ur chick, wife, youngsters..etc, decide to "slide" into water, from part of boat, where snaps are..ur gonna hear them after pop'n up from the water. Wife had a knarly "mark" from this situation...my 2 cents
