Hello all new to the forum. I just got my brothers 2006 GTI SE 130. We took it out for it's maiden voyage and it fired right up. I let it idle out and then accelerated to about 46mph and then it fell on it's face. Speed dropped down to 36 then surged up then back down this happened a few times then went back to the dock. I had just filled up prior and ski had about 2to3 gals before filling.
after talking with my brother we realized the gas was at least 9 months old they had pulled ski out in dec. and most likely older then that. I'm a service Mgr for a automotive shop and the techs think I have bad gas.
I would most likely agree and they recommended using sea foam and just running the tank out.
I do have the ability to suck all of the fuel out and put in good gas and sea foam.
what would you all recommend?
No warning lites came on. Other then the surging
It ran very well. At idle I could fell it surging.
Thanks for your advice
